Director – External Funding & Technology Development – GE Aerospace

Tomasz Fafiński is experienced aerospace technology development leader, with strong background in aviation industry, R&D programs management and propulsions development.

He is focused on GE Aerospace advanced technology programs, identifying external funding opportunities, partnerships, or investments, building relationships with government agencies & funding organizations. By advocating for sustainable aviation technologies, he contributes to shaping the future research & development (R&D) funding streams & agendas. He is representative on the Steering Committees of several Clean Aviation programs and member of the core working group of the Association of Polish Aviation Industry (APAI) dealing with the development and growth of the aviation industry in Poland.

Tomasz graduated from the Military University of Technology in Warsaw with a Master of Science in Aviation Engineering. He also completed postgraduate studies in Intellectual Property Law at the University of Warsaw.

He joined GE Aerospace in 2007 and since that time held various engineering and leadership roles within aerodynamics, anti-ice methods development and systems design, physic-based tools development, and engine performance. He has been actively involved in New Technology Introduction (NTI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) such as GEnx, CFM LEAP, P20, Catalyst and Marine & Industrial programs. Additionally, Tomasz has contributed to CFM LEAP and P20 products certification testing, in service support and MRO test cells correlation.
